An Analogue Blog

An Analogue Blog.

I just realised I haven’t put a blog on the website for a long time. It’s not like we haven’t been doing anything!

Although I spend as much time as possible working on music, writing and sometimes even drawing pictures, there is always plenty of historical housework to do!

So on the sunny day pictured above I drove to my lock up with the intention of throwing out some unwonted items and categorising some of my archive.

I read somewhere that a journalist working on Joe Strummer’s biographer found a number of his notebooks which were considered invaluable material. (Less than 10.) My professional music career has yielded over 70 notebooks and about 12 big plastic storage boxes of cuttings and other written memorabilia! The Fischer-Z short stories that I’m working on will end up including some of this material.

What I was mainly looking at the other day was the large number of analogue tapes, mainly outtakes and also 2-inch master reels from many different Fischer-Z recording sessions. I need more space so I reckon it’s time to sell some of those spools back to studios that still have analogue machines.
