• Nice.

This is and absolutely enormous square in the centre of Nice city. It features one of my favourite fountains in all the world… Greek Gods/Goddesses starkers with variable fountain heights and rather undersized private parts! Even on the greyest of days this place is mighty impressive. There are a fixed number of colours that the buildings are allowed to be. This location is between the Old Nice seaside and the town shopping centre. My photo is also an opportunity to play spot my girlfriend!

  • Breakfast in Paris

This is indeed early Paris in the Springtime.  I have time for breakfast outside ‘The Philosophes’ before heading by taxi to the Gare du Nord en route to Gent. Even the sound of road drills fails to puncture my bon mood!

I’m thinking about the large narrative collage/paintings we were discussing last night, that will interweave so well with the ‘21 C’ subject matter.

The mode of leaving the bar at 2am summed up the best of the Paris experience. Though cold and avoiding rainspots, we stood there for more than half an hour exchanging stories about the development of the Bastille and the likely identity of ‘The man in the iron mask’ – louis xiv’s over stylish accountant apparently!

  • St.Pauli everywhere!

It’s quite amazing the influence of this football club in Hamburg. Graffiti in toilets… Many different special edition shirts ….Posters on walls… flags, banners etc.   It’s just about the only place in Hamburg that everyone can direct you to!!
